storytelling

Since my lamentably awkward days of junior high, I’ve felt compelled to explore storytelling through live performance. Whether hosting a storytelling show or performing at fringe festivals across the country, I’ve always found a way to connect my voice to audiences.

Throughout this adventure, I’ve toured the U.S. performing my award-winning spoken word collection and my one-woman show. I’ve been a featured storyteller at Austin shows such as Story Department, Story Bar and Nerd Nite, and I’ve performed on venerable stages such as Paramount Theater and the Long Center for the Performing Arts.

Spinning the Bottle,  my solo comedy show exploring the follies of romantic love, earned numerous awards across the Texas fringe circuit.  Most recently, Spinning the Bottle was featured at San Francisco Fringe Festival and performed at the beautiful Inspire Theater in Downtown Las Vegas.

I was an Associate Artist in Residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, studying under Obie-Award-winning solo performer and novelist, Heather Woodbury. I was anointed Austin’s Individual Poetry Slam Champion in both 2006 and 2009, and earned a place on the 2005 and 2007 Austin Poetry Slam Teams - representing Austin at the National Poetry Slam.
